Season 2 Rules Page
How to Play
Fantasy Football Classic is a game much like Fantasy Football where participants draft a team of football players, choose which of their players will start each week, and battle another participant’s team with the winner being determined by a point system reflecting the statistics generated by their starters versus their opponents’ team.
What makes Fantasy Football Classic different is that the statistics used are from games that have been played years in advance. How this works is that once the season’s draft is complete, the participant will receive a log of their players point output on a game by game basis, and the owner will be able to choose which of their players they will be starting every week and which of that players game stats will be used for a particular week, and once a players game stats are used they cannot be used again for the remainder of the season.
This mirrors the game of poker in way that an owner will know which cards they hold and try to figure which cards to play in order to defeat their opponent without knowing the cards that their opponent holds.
HOW IT WORKS:
- The Draft: This is where you fill your deck. Each owner will get the chance to select the 15 players that will make up your team. The draft will be made up of 15 rounds and each owner will select one team per round. The order or the first round will be determined random, and the order will reverse for each round. Lists of draftable players will be made available prior to the draft. After the draft is complete each owner will receive a stat log for each of their players.
- Your Team: Each team will consist of the following – 2 quarterbacks, 3 runningbacks, 6 receivers(WR/TE), 2 kickers, and 2 defensive/special teams squads. Each week, every owner will submit their starting line-up to the commissioner. That line-up will consist of 1 quarterback, 1 runningback, 2 receivers(WR/TE), 1 flex player(RB/WR/TE), 1 kicker, and 1 defense/special teams squad.
Submitting your weekly lineup: Each week owners will submit their starting lineup to the commissioner prior to their game. That line-up will consist of 1 quarterback, 1 runningback, 2 receivers(WR/TE), 1 flex player(RB/WR/TE), 1 kicker, and 1 defense/special teams squad. Here is an example of a team’s players and stat logs:

An owners weekly submission will include the players they want to start, as well as the week number they want to use for each player. That week number will determine the number of points a player will contribute. An example of a starting line-up will look like this:

This line-up would produce 106 points for the team owner that submitted it. To break it down, it would look like this: 85Hebert(20 pts) + 84Cribbs(22 pts) + 83Johnson(11 pts) + 85Harris(13 pts) + 83James(14 pts) + 85Bojovic(10 pts) + 84NewJersey(16 pts) = 106 total points. That total will be put up against the owner’s weekly opponent to determine who gets the win for the week.
League structure: The 2026 season will consist of 10 participants playing a ten game schedule ending with the top four participants battling in the playoffs leading to a one game championship.
Draft
When: Sunday, March 1st 4pm(EST)
Where: The Unforgettable USFL Fantasy Football Chat
How: 15 round serpentine draft(15 picks*10 teams = 150 picks)
Draft Order: To be determined Thursday, February 26th
Who: 20 Quarterbacks, 30 Runningbacks, 60 Receivers, 20 Kickers, and
20 Defense/Special Teams Squads from the 1983-85 Season of the USFL.
Team Structure: Each owner will select 2 QB’s, 3 RB’s, 6 RC’s, 2 K’s and 2 D/ST
Time Limit per pick: 2 minutes
Absentees: If an owner, is unable to attend the draft, the commissioner
will make selections for that owner using a pre-draft ranked
list provided by that owner. If the owner does not provide a
draft list, their picks will be made using the USFL8385 Master
Draft List. It is a good idea to provide the commissioner with
a draft list, even if you are planning to attend, in the event
of an emergency or lost connection.
Missed time limit: If an owners pick time elapses, it will be the next
owners chance to pick, but the owner with the missed
pick can still pick at anytime. The commissioner will
control the clock and announce time updates every 30
seconds.
Incorrect pick: If an owner selects a player that has already been selected,
the commissioner will announce that, and the owner will still
have the rest of their remaining time to choose another player.
Post Draft: Once the draft is complete, the commissioner will send out each
owners roster to them shortly thereafter, complete with their
players game by game point performances. The game by game stats
will only be available post draft.
Weekly Line-Up Submission
Each owner’s line-up will need to be submitted to me no later than 7:00 am(EST) on each Gameday. If an owner misses the deadline or submits a player(s) week that has already been submitted previously, the commissioner will use the previous week’s line-up and for each player the next unused player week will be used. For instance, if a owner submits 83 Greg Landry’s Week 12 pts for their line-up, but that week has already been used, then the commissioner will use 83 Greg Landry’s Week 13 pts. If Week 13 has been used, then Week 14 will be chosen, and so on. If any entire line-up has not been submitted by the deadline, and owners previous week’s line-up will be used with the next game’s pts used.
New Rules for Season 2
Defensive Scoring
Any defensive points scored by a defensive play(Sacks & TO’s) will not be added to a team’s score, but will be subtracted from their opponent’s score. This will help keep scores down, which will add a bit more realism to the scoring.
Home Field Advantage
For every game, the home team will receive an automatic 4 pts added to their score. Every team will have an even 5 home and 5 away games during the regular season so HFA points will be fairly distributed. HFA will exist in the playoffs, as well, with the higher seeds receiving the points.
Monday Night Games
For Season 2, we will now have Monday Night games in the league. On Sundays, all games will be “played” at 2:30 pm(EST) with the line-up submission being 7 am(EST) that day. On Mondays, games will be “played” at 8 pm(EST) with the line-up submission being 7 am(EST) that day.
Overtime
Last season we had a number of ties because we did not have an OT format in place. That changes for 2026. For the upcoming season, the highest scoring player for each team will be used to break ties. Then, if the tie has nt been broken, we move to the second highest scorer on each team. If the tie has not been broken by that point, we call it a tie.
